Travelling can take its toil, no matter how much you’ve enjoyed the new experiences. After a few days of early morning call times, I was looking forward to checking into our accommodation for our first night in Phang Nga, Phuket. While the adrenaline was powering me through activity after activity, I was beginning to feel tired out from the jam-packed travel schedule and I wanted so badly to have a nice warm shower and lie down for a bit, preferably on a plush, comfy bed.
I had not done any prior research before arriving at Aleenta Phuket and had no idea the level of luxury that was in store until I set foot onto the gorgeous compounds of the boutique beach resort managed by Small Luxury Hotels of the World™. I guess the pleasant surprise made the experience even sweeter.
The resort compound
Aleenta Phuket is situated in Phang-Nga and is about twenty to thirty minutes drive from Phuket airport.
If you’re done with all the usual tourist hot spots on Phuket and you’re looking for a travel experience to some place different in Thailand that merges nature, eco-tourism, a taste of local culture and the quiet luxury of private beaches and villas, read all about what you can do in Phang Nga here.
A Warm Welcome
Offered a welcome drink at reception by a beautiful, smiling staff member of Aleenta Phuket
A refreshing welcome drink was offered to me by a smiling server at check in and before long I found myself opening the wooden gates to my very own Grande Deluxe Pool Villa. I marvelled slack jawed, hopped around in excitement and squealed to myself (on Facebook Live) all at once.
I thought to myself,
You have got to be kidding me. This place all to myself? I don’t even have to share?”
I immediately chuckled at the thought of how jealous The F Man would be when he watched my Livestream video tour of my pool villa for the night on Facebook.
The Grand Deluxe Pool Villa
Aleenta Phuket makes for both a rewarding solo escape or couple getaway
The Grande Deluxe Pool Villa also comes with an outdoor jacuzzi
From the corner of my eye, to my left, I spotted the large private villa pool, outdoor pool terrace, day bed and outdoor jacuzzi. Would I even have enough time to enjoy a dip?
I guess with amenities so luxurious, I would just have to make time to do just that. Ironically, I had no time to waste! I immediately slipped right into my favourite one-piece swimsuit and spent a relaxing thirty minutes unwinding in tranquility and introspection.

Enjoying the chill life
Full-length glass windows with black frames open up straight into a private pool
The lovely Grande Deluxe Pool Villas open straight out from the bedroom to the pool offering a remarkable view and made unwinding in tropical paradise so amazing.
Of course it was not just the pool which had my attention.
Grey tones and straight lines contrast with dark wood and glass
If you’re going to work while on holiday, might as well be comfortable
The interior of the villa boasted a chic, clean monochrome design complemented with dark and warm woody fixtures and little homely touches for a “lived in” getaway.
A curated selection of books and maps are neatly placed in the shelves of the work desk, while on the bed sits an adorable wooden frog that holds within its mouth, a stack of visit vouchers for activities and services to ease me into my stay.
Comfy bed with 360 thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets and plush pillows
I resisted the temptation to just sink into the comfort of my villa’s king sized bed which was covered in pristine white 360 thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets and plush pillows.
Luxurious bathroom all-natural amenities
One other thing I utterly enjoyed during my all-too-short stay at Aleenta Phuket was the indulgent bathroom with its large ceiling to floor windows facing out to the pool and the fragrant all-natural amenities laid out for use.
The beautiful view from the wide full-length windows of the bathroom
I remember the comforting scent of ginger from the shampoo, conditioner and bath soap, made of essential oils I am told, as I took a shower under warm water from the rain shower. The bathroom stall also had a little hand held shower.

Dreamy spa-like shampoo, conditioner and shower gel made with essential oil extracts
I can imagine returning to Aleenta on a slower paced trip to Phuket and really just taking it all in, but even with a packed schedule, everything feels better when you get to relax. I remember being rejuvenated and refreshed after the dip in the pool and a soothing hot shower.
Chilling out after showering
Watching the sun set from the bathroom sofa
As if the luxury stops there, in your walk-in wardrobe, there are soft fluffy towels and bathrobes to slip into after an afternoon in the pool and seriously silky smooth rayon Thai pyjamas to help make sleep even more comfortable.
Hanging out with the girlies before bed time
Some quiet-time before sleep
One of my fondest memories at Aleenta Phuket in my short overnighter there, was the intimate chit chat sessions I had with the girlies from Philippines while in our jammies sprawled on the bed.
Breakfast by Natai Beach
Enroute to breakfast
After a good nights rest, nothing beats a scrumptious breakfast and at Aleenta Phuket, I was in for a treat. I took a stroll through the resort’s compounds and past a gorgeous infinity pool lined with day beds as I made my way towards THE EDGE, the beachfront restaurant where brekkie would be served.

THE EDGE is one of two restaurants at Aleenta Phuket. It functions as the resort’s all day dining and serves inspired contemporary Thai cuisine.
If you’re craving for something more local, dine at The Natai Restaurant for a taste of contemporary Thai cuisine prepared using the freshest local ingredients specially selected from nearby markets.
THE EDGE Beachfront Restaurant
Selection of cold cuts, cheese, dim sum and juices for breakfast
Back to the first meal of the day at Aleenta Phuket. For breakfast, indulge in a selection of cold cuts, cheese, dim sum and bottled juices and don’t miss ordering Aleenta’s Signature Gourmet Breakfast available every morning. These are eggs done in a variety of styles and made the “Aleenta” way.
Aleenta Signature Gourmet Breakfast
Like every other part of the resort, THE EDGE is offers breathtaking views and reminds you every single minute that you’re blissfully kicking back in a stress-free environment and having the most amazing beach getaway ever.
Cozy indoor dining area overlooking the Andaman Sea
I was enjoying my order of Eggs Benedict to this sweet view of Natai Beach. Perfect mornings are made like this.
Oh and may I add that the stretch of beach is quiet and never crowded. Unlike a typical beach getaway to a resort in Phuket, there are no large crowds of tourists or noisy beach sports.
Rates for a Grand Deluxe Pool Villa begin from as low as 7,200฿ (Approximately S$280). Depending on date of travel (whether during peak or non-peak season) and how far in advance accommodations have been booked, rates may vary.
While this seems steep when compared with other affordable lodging options in Phuket, the experience offered at Aleenta Phuket is well worth its rate. After all, everything from service to furnishings and fittings of the restaurants and rooms are all worthy of five-stars and if you’re looking to splurge for a night or two while in Phang Nga, make it at Aleenta.
