NARS has some of the raunchiest names for their blushes and their notorious “Orgasm” blush was what caught my attention many years back when I first started taking an interest in makeup. I soon fell in love with NARS Hungry Heart, a beautiful shimmer/glitter highlighter duo and the rest they say is history.
A couple of weeks ago, I was given store credits to shop for a couple of NARS products and review them. There couldn’t be a better time. I was almost done with my favourite blush and just ran out of my usual highlighter and was already looking for replacements.
I actually exceeded the allocated credits because I pretty much had my “haul lights” switched on in my brain and ended up spending a lot more. #OppsIHauled

NARSissist Cheek Studio Palette Spring 16
At $98, the NARSissist Cheek Studio Palette Spring 16 is obviously a splurge, but it is one that provides so much value and is totally worth it.
It includes contouring blush powder in two shades, a bronzer and four lovely and versatile blush shades to suit any outfit and occasion.
- Paloma 1 is a very sheer pinkish beige suitable for highlighting
- Paloma 2 is a deep pinkish brown blush, that can be used for sculpting of the nose or as darker contouring shade
- Laguna, another famous NARS favourite, is a warm bronzing powder with a subtle gold shimmer
- I Blush (Icy Lilac) is a sweet lilac pink specks of gold glitter
- II Blush (Sausalito Sunset) is a warm sunset pink with silver glitter
- III Blush (Shimmering Rose Peach) is a deep peachy pink
- Goulue is a cool plum berry shade with a subtle gold sheen
I love all the blushes in this palette, however, some naturally work better with my skin tone. In particular, Paloma 2 and Laguna are perfect contouring and shading blushes for me, while II (Sausalito Sunset), III (Shimmering Rose Peach) and Goulue turn up beautifully on my cheeks.
I (Icy Lilac) may be a little too light for my skin tone, but may add a nice sparkle when layered on top of another medium pink blush.
Using II and III on cheeks, Laguna on jawline and under cheeks
As always, NARS powder blushes are a makeup junkie’s dream and Laguna lives up to all the hype. The texture of the blushes are just amazing and they apply so well onto skin and creating a subtle glow along with that pop of healthy colour.
The Multiple is a multi-purpose cream colour stick
I was pretty excited to try out The Multiple in Copacabana. I have high expectations for NARS highlighting products because I’ve had such great experiences from the brand so far.
While some people love using a brush, I prefer using my fingers to just spread the cream highlighter and even it out. The texture of The Multiple is creamy when applied but “dries” and “sets” fast.
My choice was Copacabana for a gorgeous opalescent pearl pink highlight
I absolutely adore the lovely opalescent pearly pink sheen on my cheeks, forehead, brow bone, nose bridge and tip, and chin when I use it.
Again, this is a real splurge, but the cream stick comes in a pretty generous tube stick and I’m looking forward to getting quite a bit of wear out of this one. The only grouse I have about The Multiple is the same “matte” packaging every NARS product seem to come in. This means my NARS products tend to look quite dirty and forever full of fingerprints. Other than this one small point, I’m really a fan.
The must buy Audacious Lipstick in Jane
Oh boy, I have to rave about the Audacious Lipstick. I was debating whether or not to check out the Audacious Lipstick because while it seemed to be all over the internet and highly recommended by so many beauty gurus, I wasn’t quite sure if it would be worth the $44 price tag.
Well, my instincts were right, the Audacious Lipstick is just fantastic.
Love the creamy texture and rich terracotta rose shade
Jane, the shade I picked, is described as a terracotta rose. What do you think? I personally love the warmth of this unique shade.
The coverage of the Audacious lipstick is fabulous and I find that two layers is all I need. It’s glides on with a wonderful satiny finish. It’s pretty long-wearing as well.
